Most magnetic hooks give up on insulated glass. This one was built for double pane doors: two powerful magnets grip through the glass from both sides, so your wreath stays put through wind, rain and slamming doors, with no drilling and no suction cups to let go.

Holding power by glass thickness

  • Double pane insulated glass, 1/2"–1": up to 4 lbs
  • Single pane glass, 1/8"–3/16" (most storm doors): up to 10 lbs
  • Metal or steel door: up to 15 lbs

Thicker glass puts a wider gap between the two magnets, and magnetic grip drops off quickly with distance. Measure your glass before ordering. Most standard 20–24" artificial wreaths weigh 2–4 lbs and are well within range; heavy decorated, grapevine and fresh evergreen wreaths can exceed it, so weigh yours first.

Important usage note

These magnets are genuinely strong, which is why they hold a heavy wreath.

  1. Separate the two pieces by SLIDING them apart. Never pull them straight apart.
  2. Place the flat magnet on the inside of the glass.
  3. Bring the hook piece to the outside and SLIDE it into position over the inside magnet. Never let the pieces snap toward each other.
  4. To move it, slide it across the glass. Don't pull it off.

A rapid collision can pinch fingers or break glass. Instructions are included; always read them before handling and installing. Keep away from children, pacemakers and credit cards.

Frequently asked questions

Does this work on double pane glass doors or windows?
Yes, that's what it's built for. It holds up to 4 lbs through double pane insulated glass 1/2"–1" thick, which covers most standard artificial wreaths.

My door glass is wavy or textured. Will it hold?
Yes. The magnets pull through the glass itself, so surface texture doesn't matter the way it does for suction cups.

Will this slide down or scratch my glass?
Within the weight limits above, it stays put. The back of each magnet is smooth, and because you slide it into place rather than snapping it on, it won't scratch clean glass. Wipe off any grit before installing.

The magnet is super super strong that it actually made me nervous to use. I was afraid it was going to breathe glass on my door and if the two magnets meet and attach, you are totally out of luck you’re not getting that apart.

This magnet is what I would call EXTREME. It would not work for my door, the double glass is too far apart but if you need an ultra strong magnet, it is the answer. I can see how it could break the glass. Once stuck together you cannot pull the 2 sections apart.

Boy, when it says these magnets are super strong, they're not kidding! Unfortunately, they were SO strong, I couldn't get them apart! The instructions indicate two people are needed, but it's just me in my household. I would suggest that these be put in two smaller, separate boxes, then put in the shipping box. I would recommend them, but with the caveat that definitely two people are needed, and one of them be strong enough to get them apart. Shipping is too long--13 days after I placed the order. Sent from Pennsylvania, and I live in N.C.--not that far away.

These magnets are PERFECT for my double paned front doors. I needed something strong enough to hold a wreath. The glass in our front doors is double paned, and if you've looked all over for magnetic hooks that will hold through double paned windows THIS IS IT. The glass in our doors is also uneven/wavy. These don't budge. I'm so happy I could cry!

Great product. Powerful magnets. Works as described. After I used the magnets once, they got a little too close to each other and now they’re stuck. we live in Chicago. I’m going to find somebody to unstick them for me. But before they stuck together, they did what they were supposed to do.

Very disappointed in the extra strong magnetic wreath hanger. The listing said it would work on double pane windows and storm doors, which no other magnetic holders would do. We installed the magnetic hanger as directed on our double pane glass of our entry door and the magnets failed to hold our four pound Christmas wreath. Upon further testing, it wouldn’t hold anything!!! I unfortunately bought two with hopes of keeping one and gifting the other to a family member! What a waste of $60. :(

I’m not using this to hang a wreath. I purchased two to use on our glass shower for our bathrobes. We were using suction cup hooks and they fell down constantly.

These are totally different! Those hooks aren’t going anywhere. Attractive and super easy to install.
